Celebrities who have overcome addictions...

One actor who overcame his addictions is Robert Downy Jr. and I am so happy to see him in a positive limelight now. I have enjoyed his acting for many years. He conquered his demons and it shows on talk shows now. He seems happy and well adjusted, talking about his teenage son. He smiles a lot and pokes fun at himself and his checkered past. He is also less smug these days. So many young actors that get into addictions end up losing their lives and he has prevailed.

I remember having a crush on Elvis Presley when I was very, very young. I had never seen any of his movies much but I loved seeing him perform on stage when something was shown on TV. His addictions led to his serious weight gain and I cried when I saw a performance showing how obese he had become. Even at my young age I knew it wasn't healthy and I worried that he would die so I vowed never to watch his stage performances again. I continued to listen to my album and I mourned his death. I wish he had overcome his addictions.

I like Craig Ferguson on the Late Late Show, formerly Mr. Wick on the Drew Carey Show, as he speaks of the errors of his ways with addictions and overcoming them. He has written a book about it that I may or may not read. He is happily married with a son now and I am happy watching his goofy self late late at night. On another note, he hasn't learned how to settle his audiance down so he can start his show. David Letterman does that much better than Craig as does Ellen Degeneres...why is that?

Jennifer Love Hewitt - A new book - and Infomercials

I watched the Late Late Show tonight with Craig Ferguson and his first guest was Jennifer Love Hewitt. She wrote book titled, The Day I Shot Cupid. As she was bantering about with Craig, they spoke about exercising and that lead to talking about infomercials. Jennifer likes to run but she also enjoys the Ab Circle Pro she purchased recently from an infomercial. She also mentioned some other infomercial items she purchased like the Slap Chop and the ShamWow. That cracks me up...of course it doesn't take much as you may recall which, isn't a bad thing; laughing keeps us young at heart.

The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson

I enjoy watching Craig Ferguson on the Late Late Show....I am almost embarassed to admit it however. LOL One thing I like is Craig started using Twitter himself and he reads tweets on the air from fans. I have written many tweets to him but have not been recognized on the air yet. However, people from Oregon have been so I think that makes my chances better. Hey it will be my few seconds of fame! I hope to find other celebrities that actually do their own tweeting, not general fan sites.
