i Trust the Lord but people can be difficult. However...

I am spending the afternoon listening to our Pastor, Lenny's sermons over the past few weeks before church tomorrow. I don't usually do this but have been compelled to do it today. In Lenny's sermon about Mission, he is talking about all of us loving each other in our community. I show I care about people in ways that I am able and I don't expect anything in return. However, while I believe I am doing well trusting the Lord people can be difficult to trust. If I ask someone for help, just a question that goes ignored even if it is written wall-to-wall on Facebook, it is difficult not to feel slighted.

I was nervous about following through with something that I would like to do which is act in a local community group. There was an audition today and I felt as though I could do it but I had a question for a sister from church about auditions first. I know she was in active in the theater so I put a question out there for her. I didn't expect her to help me, but showing me respect by saying, "I cannot help you", "I'm too busy", "It isn't cool for you to ask me for help", even, "Don't bother because you likely won't make it", would have been better than to be ignored. I know she is online almost every day, frequently throughout the day and that's why I had written my question to her Wall-to-wall on Facebook.

I wondered if I should say something to her. Then after chatting with a friend, I realized I was being selfish because that sister had her reasons for not responding. So, I took my uneasyness as a sign that this is not a good time for me to take on new projects, like acting, and to feed myself spiritually instead. So, I chose to start off by listening to some of Lenny's past sermons, then I made a couple phone calls with questions to a few members of my Good Roots family, then I plan to listen to part of the audiobook, Th Book of John and start reading Acts as Lenny will be preaching from Acts soon so I may have questions answered in church.

From Lenny's sermon titled, Mission:

Here's a list of qualities for a discipled person as quoted by Lenny:
A discipled person:
Knows Jesus as Savior and Lord
Shares the Gospel
Worships and Obeys God
Gives Faithfully
Loves Others
Exhibits Spiritual Growth
Self Feeder
Makes Disciples

Here's a website recommended to me after one of my phone calls to get more sermons to download and listen to when I would like, www.desiringgod.com.

I am feeling much better already. I have lots of housework to catch up today since I am feeling better and things got out of hand as I have been under the weather for the past week, and my friend from Bend will be staying here with her daughter tomorrow, Sunday, night. So, time to get back to it!
