Shoppers beware....Infomercials and add-ons
Some people like buying products from infomercials and I have a few times in my lifetime as well. However, when doing so recently, I found that the salespeople are more adept than they used to be at offering "free" items by simply adding ONLY extra P&H or S&H for those items. However, they neglect to make it clear that if you want to return the items, you aren't going to be refunded any of the S&H or P&H, plus you will be required to pay to ship the product(s) back to them. Kymaro Body Shapers for isntance, they said I can return one top and the jeans but the three "free" items for which I paid $9.95 a piece for processing and handling for can be kept. I said I really dislike the product so why would I want to keep those items, to which they replied why wouldn't you keep it since you basically paid for them and that I should think of it like purchasing clearance items that cannot be returned. I also made the same mistake with the Flavorwave Turbo for cooking...I thought it would replace my stove and make cooking much faster and easier for myself. On the infomercial they were showing many ways to cook items but they neglected to say what tools were included or not. So, as I placed the order I was bomarded with questions about which "free" items I wanted to add with only a small S&H charge. Next thing I know I am paying at least twice as much as I intended but ridiculously thought I could send it back for a refund. $60 was the total for S&H if I were to return it, not to mention the cost of sending the large 24lb box back. I am going to keep the Flavorwave however as they agreed that if I would agree to keep the product, they would then refund the S&H. Such a rip and I fell for it all; at least I know not to do it again. Well, after I make my first meal using the Flavorwave I will write about it!
