Shyloe (one of my cats) was apparently staring at me and I didn't see her so she stood up, sort of, and tapped me on the leg with one paw (I know this because I have seen her do it before)...then she resumed sitting and staring. So, I asked her "what?!" as I patted my lap and sure enough she wanted me to stop typing long enough so she could jump up and lay down on my lap! She is allowing me to type right now, with just an occassional pause to pat her.
:-) However, once she is on my lap, if I try to get up or move her in any way she has no qualms about using her claws to hold on! I keep a container of Glade or Fabreeze nearby so I can pick it up as she hates the sound of the spray! Two can play at that game!

My beautiful cats...
My cats have been called beautiful and I tend to agree...however, they can be little scamps. Sky, for instance, loves to beg when I eat, though admittedly she will give up and go lay down sometimes because she gets bored waiting. However, I often give her a tidbit and she often eats it. When I give her a tidbit that she won't eat for whatever reason she continues to sit and look at me as if I am keeping something yummy from her, that I haven't provided the REAL tidbit yet! While Shyloe, on the otherhand, will watch me eat sometimes. Those are the times I have tried giving her a tidbit only to watch her sniff it, look at me like I am nuts, before she goes to sleep, unless I pet her after throwing away the refused tidbit and she licks my hand before going to sleep. I don't know if she is trying to say "thanks anyway" or "I like the taste of your hand better".

Suprise Surprise Surprise
I had a cubbord door in the kitchen that I thought I must have rodents or a ghost because this cubbord would be found open mysteriously often. Well, one day I heard a noise and I found Sky scratching on that door. Still she didn't have it open and the magnet holding it shut seemed pretty snug. However, I walked into the kitchen while she was caught in the act of crawling into the cubboard a after I had heard some noise and was walking around trying to figure where the noise was coming from. Yes it was her again. I caught her trying to open a cubbord door in the bathroom too. Crazy Cat!

Shyloe has her fierce gaze down pat!
I love Shyloe no matter what...she is my baby, who also happens to know how to really glare at me when she wants something. However, she has been a bit weird lately. I will see her sitting perfectly still, glaring, a few feet away, then when I look away and look up again, she has stealthily moved a little closer and still glaring. Then when that has happened for the third time, and she is at my feet, it feels creepy! At that point I definately start asking her what she wants! Sometimes, she will actually start walking in the direction of what she wants me to see or will then jump up on me if sitting on my lap is all she wanted! Silly girl(s)!

Shyloe, a new toy and insomnia...
Oh my, I used to have a red lazer light which, Shyloe delighted in chasing all over the room, even following it in anticipation with her eyes as the light traveled up the wall and danced on the ceiling. That light was broken somehow. I just purchased a new one today and this evening I shined it for Shyloe (her sister Sky looks at the light unmoving, as if she's thinking Shyloe is crazy for wasting her energy on such a thing...afterall it's not a grocery store receipt wadded up which is REALLY fun - Sky's a cheap date, so to speak!). Now that Shyloe is older however, she runs around like a maniac chasing the light for a minute or so, then lies down and will only swat at the light if I shine it in front of her face so she can reach it! Anyway, I have insomnia as I do quite often and she seemed to gain a second wind and wanted to play so I shone the light for her but her energy didn't last long...alas, I was mistaken. My sleeplessness has out lasted her second wind! (Sky has been content to lie next to me sleeping all this time.) Hmm, I just happened to think that it is getting so late, I had better go set my alarm clock for church in the morning as this will be my first Easter, going to church, at least that I recall. I love going to church...this is the best I have ever attended. Well, I think I will put on a movie I have seen a hundred times as that often helps me when I finally start to tire. The music in the background of, "The Mummy", works well for me, as well as, "The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring". At least I can take a nap after church! Goodnight.

Cat Payback...
Sometimes my cats wait, seemingly on purpose, until I start to go to sleep, then one or both will jump up on the couch or bed startling the heck out of me. Shyloe has been known to pounce on me directly if I have gone to bed when their kitty litter needs changing, or when they are low on food or water...that's low, not out. THAT'S PAYBACK! I can tell her "show me" following her and she will take me to the room that has some need fulfilled. I cannot do that with Sky because she will go to the kictchen hoping for tidbits of people food or just curl around my legs.
Sky hoping for attention...
Since I have been fighting a "perma" cold I have been sleeping on the couch. Why? 1. I can watch movies with all of my meds, a place for my water, tissues with a garbage can close by and 2. My loving cats can't fit on the couch with me, like when I sleep in bed. They sleep above my head on the couch to be close to me.
One night however, Sky, the heavier of the two weighing about 25 lbs. decided she was tired of sleeping above me so she jumped up to the top of the couch, then decended very slowy (like she was being sneaky), as she crawled onto my hip her weight became an issue but I knew that part wouldn't last long then she finally laid down. Once settled, her weight evenly distributed, it wasn't so bad so I let her stay. However, she kept looking back at me as if to ask why wasn't I petting her. Sadly for her, I was watching a comedy show on Netflix and moving around a lot laughing and coughing. She was obviously, to me, disgusted and disappeared somewhere in my home pouting. I have pictures on Facebook showing where I found Sky. LOL

Sky my cat and her eating tidbits...
Sky on the other hand will beg and eat most tidbits I give her. Spoiling her has created a bit of a monster. Sometimes she will walk up to me on the couch as I eat watching TV, and try to stick her nose in my plate to see if she wants any of it! Then when she gets in trouble for that, she sits as close to me as possible facing the opposite direction as if to say "see I am not looking at you. I'm being g o o d!"
Shyloe my cat...and eating tidbits
I spoil my cats by feeding them table scraps sometimes. Shyloe begs but when I put the tidbit in front of her she sniffs it then turns her head away, until I take it away then she looks at me like, "what are you doing!?". Then starts begging again shortly after...like I am giong to offer her something else! LOL
Ok 1 more post today, April Fool's Day, tho my cats are no joke! :-)
I am merely introducing you to my cats, Shyloe and Sky, sisters about 6 years old. They keep me company and I have enjoyed learning their human like behaviors.
I write a lot about the funny things they do and plan to continue to do so in this forum rather than in Facebook. I write so much that I think people have stopped reading what I write in Facebook anyway. I will begin writing about my cats in detail later and if someone choses to read my posts, great, if not I have a wonderful place to journal about them here in blogspot.
Happy April Fool's Day!
